You're not committing to anything by making an application. We will send you a free no obligation quotation which will be valid for 90 days. Once you are happy and ready to go ahead with your works you can make a payment. Your Project Manager will then be in touch with you within 5 working days.

Your quotation is valid for 90 days. If you reach the end of the 90 days let us know and we can request a new quotation for you. Once you receive your new quotation you will have another 90 days to make a payment.

Your quote includes the costs of many things. Some of these things aren't considered when you first apply. They include:

• Materials for your connection
• External sitework costs, for example road closures
• Qualified engineers time to carry out your connection
• Maintenance of any future potential faults

We know the costs can seem very high to some customers, but we always look for the most cost effective option.

We can always amend or change the quote. If you need to make a change to your quotation, for example changing the amount of electricity capacity you need or the position of where you would like your supply point to be, then please let one of our team know, and we can produce you a new quotation.

No, you don’t. You do have a choice. You can contact an accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP) who can quote and carry these works out for you. Please note they must be trained to work on the network and cannot be a private electrician without the required accreditation. Click here to learn more about ICPs. Not all ICPs will carry out smaller domestic connections and may be more expensive.

We will include excavations needed outside of your boundary within your quotation. There may be times where we will come out to site and more digging is needed. If this is the case, we will tell you about any extra costs that may occur.

We can add the cost to dig on your land into your quote, but it may be more cost effective for you to do this yourself. Especially if you already have builders on site. You can refer to our site readiness guide for trenching depths and refer to your quotation. Your Project Manager can also provide information on the trench route.

After payment and depending on the extent of work required, it will take between 30-40 working days to complete your connection. If you know you will not be ready in this time, then there is no need to make a payment until you are close to needing the works complete.

When your Project Manager books in a date that works for you, they will be able to give you a clearer time on when the engineers will arrive.

Your quote and Project Manager will let you know what you need to do to get your site ready. You will need to supply a meter box and ducting if your planning on having your meter outside your home. Guidance on this will be provided to you or can be found in our site readiness guide.

Your electrician will not be accredited to work on the main network so will not be able to install your new connection. However, have them on hand for any internal electrical works including connecting from your meter to your consumer unit.

You will need to choose who you would like to pay your electricity bills to and they will look after your meter.  We will issue you with a Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) shortly after payment. You will then be able to take this unique connection number to your chosen supplier who will install your meter and start billing you for your electricity usage.
